Cars, career and a brief C.V.
Freelance motoring specialist, television presenter, rally driver and Car of the Year judge.
Cars are my life, my livelihood and my passion. Even my other sport involves horsepower (just one though, and a live one at that).

I've been into cars since I was a kid. I had a golf buggy-powered Mighty Boy, called 'The Brat' at grandpa's farm at age five (pictured, right), and used to throw my weight around to have more turns than my younger brother.

At another farm, nearly a decade later, my friends and I discovered a dumped joyride Gemini with the screwdriver still in the ignition: turn, start, realise there were no stoppers apart from the handbrake, and welcome to sideways rear-drive hilarity! Hooked ever since.

I am a motoring journalist – one of the few women in the country – and have worked and fought hard to earn the respect of my peers in both this arena and on the track.

DRIVER PROFILE
I regularly track-test cars and compete in various forms of motorsport, running a high-profile all-girl team in tarmac rally. I also instruct at race drive days and have participated in several safety videos and demonstrations as a driver and presenter. View some of my in-car videos
HERE.

VIDEO PRODUCTION
I have a UNSW BFA degree in Film and Television, and began my career as an editor of both film and sound before progressing to specialise in post-production Dolby sound editing. My early career has enabled me to film and produce videos for motoring websites and automotive businesses, and I personally own a full in-car and exterior camera car kit.

WEB DESIGN AND CONTENT
I trained and worked as a web developer while establishing my freelance career as a motoring writer, which has given me the skills to multi-task across a wide range of web-based and social media platforms. From 2007, I was the Deputy Editor of the Wheels Magazine website while also freelancing for the magazine as a writer and COTY judge, progressing to the role of Editor in 2009 and also setting up the current ACP Motoring Magazine hub at NineMSN. I currently create websites and social networking sites as a freelance PR agent.

PR PROFILE
I have assisted various motorsport teams and individuals with event press releases and press guidance, including DriveBathurst (TrackCorp) and Targa Tasmania. Further details available on request, or go to the
PR PAGE.
I run in two tarmac rally championships: the Australian Targa Championship, and the Australian Tarmac Rally Championship. I operate my own rally team, and blog on its website www.ssrallysport.com. Myself and navigator Claire won a national title, the 2010 Australian Tarmac Championship (both Early Modern and Category 8), in our first full year of rally competition. I am the first woman to win a rally outright at a national level (2012).

I have experience providing tailored press packages for motorsport, events and car-related media,
including immediate press releases, photography and multimedia packages; proven coverage to the people that count. This combination of skills gives me a rare insight into the sport as a journalist, commentator and competitor.
